Alexey Timoshkin is Associate Professor, Head of the laboratory of High temperature chemistry, St.Petersburg State University, Russia. 05.1989 defended his first research project: "Interaction of Gallium triiodide with acetonitrile and establishing the complex composition".

06.1993 graduated from the St. Petersburg State University, Russia. Defends his Diploma thesis "The role of the halogen on the stability of complexes of gallium trihalides with pyridine" under the supervision of Dr. A.A. Grigoriev and Prof. A.V.Suvorov. Publishes his first scientific paper "Determination of the standard enthalpy of sublimation of gallium triodide".

10.1993 started post-graduate studies in St. Petersburg State University.

01.1995-06.1996 studied Computer Science at Eastern Connecticut State University, USA on full NAFSA-REAP Scholarship.

19.05.1996 received BGS degree in Computer Science (with Deans Distinction) from Eastern Connecticut State University, USA.

05.1995-06.1995 visited Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry (CCQC), University of Georgia, USA. First computational project "Electron affinities of the Sulfur Fluorides" under the direction of Prof. H.F.Schaefer

07.1996-08.1996 second visit to CCQC. Working with Holger. F. Bettinger on the project "CVD of Aluminum nitride", results were published in the first english paper in JACS.

09.1996 returned to St. Petersburg State University, Russia, continued his post-graduate project.

03.09.1997 married the designer of this homepage, Liudmila Kuchina.

25.12.1997 defended Candidate of Science Dissertation "The influence of the halogen nature on the acceptor ability of the Donor-acceptor complexes."

03.01.1998 Assistant Professor, St. Petersburg State University, Russia.

08.1999 participated in WATOC congress in London. Established contacts with Prof. G. Frenking.

11.1999-08.2000 joined Prof. G. Frenking's group at Philipps-Universitat Marburg, Germany. Submited application for the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship. Established contacts with Prof. M. Scheer.
